Au Bord de l’Eau
Our little restaurant, port and gite is in a quiet, pretty little spot on the banks of the Canal du Midi on the outskirts of Buzet. We pride ourselves on serving fresh homeade food using local produce. We also offer boat moorings and have a small holiday gite.
Buzet is a well known wine producing village set in the Lot et Garonnais countryside surrounded by vines halfway between Bordeaux and Toulouse. The ‘Voie Verte’ cycle path that runs from the Atlantic to the Med passes in front of us.

About Us
Sara & Kevin Sharpe
We started Au Bord de l'Eau in 2007 having fallen in love with this pretty little corner of France and deciding we wanted to follow our dreams and open a little bistrot in the area.
Having studied French at University and spending a year in Provence and many family holidays in France, I always knew I would end up here, and Kevin was happy to take the plunge with me. So after many visits and discussions we took the plunge and gave up our corporate jobs in the UK and the adventure began.
That was 12 years ago, our little business has since gone from strength to strength evolving over the years. Kevin is the chef and Sara runs the front of house. We take pride in serving fresh local food with a British twist!
12 years later and we now family of our own and call Lot et Garonne our permanent home.
It is a beautiful area ideal for a relaxing holiday, there are beautiful bastide rivers, lakes and countryside, wonderful gastronomy and friendly people not forgetting the lovely Buzet wine. There are lots of fun activities including cycling, boating, wine tasting and loads of activities for families and children.
A bit older, greyer and hopefully a bit wiser we are enthusiastic the future and have lots of exciting projects to come.
